Oil & Grease Cleaning

A large dark spot on your driveway or garage floor will stand out. Oils will leave permanent stains when left to soak into the surface. It is important to call a professional as soon as possible when an oil spill occurs. To help protect your floors against oils and other stains, consider sealing your surfaces.

Recommended Steps

  1. If the oil is still wet use a paper towel to dab up as much as possible.
  2. Apply a degreaser to the oil and surrounding areas. A degreaser can be found at Lowes, Home Depot, etc. Alternatively you may use a liquid detergent.
  3. Use a stiff bristled brush to scrub the affected area. If you are using a liquid detergent, scrubbing is even more important.
  4. IMPORTANT: let the degreaser work. Let it dwell for 5-15 minutes.
  5. Rinse off the affected area well. If possible, use hot water. Hot water is much more effective on oil than cold water.
